RISK PLUGIN
Service concept to decrease inequality: Empowering Safer Online Shopping for All
As part of Aalto University's User Inspired Design Making course, our team explored how income inequality affects online shopping behavior. Using the Double Diamond process, we discovered that lower-income individuals face more risk and effort when purchasing online, often sacrificing time and security.
We conducted ten in-depth user interviews, analyzed key insights, and developed user personas to guide ideation. Our final concept, the Risk Plugin, is a browser extension designed to reduce risk and improve trust for online shoppers through seller transparency, secure payment options, and a knowledge-sharing community. The solution aims to make online shopping a safer, more equitable experience, especially for those on a tight budget.
